🌳 Join the Conversation: L.A. County’s Oak Tree Program 🌳
Did you know Los Angeles County has a special program dedicated to protecting our beautiful native oak trees? The Oak Tree Program works to preserve and maintain healthy oaks in our community forest while balancing development needs.
The program includes several important policies and plans, such as:
Oak Tree Permit Ordinance (Chapter 22.174 of the County Zoning Code)
Los Angeles County General Plan
Oak Woodlands Conservation Management Plan
Upcoming Oak Tree Permit Ordinance Update
Right now, LA County Planning is updating the Oak Tree Permit Ordinance (OTP) to make the permitting process more efficient, encourage planting new oaks, and inspire creative designs that minimize impacts on existing trees.
