MNVCA UPDATE + JULY 4TH CELEBRATION NEWS

Hi Neighbor,

We have a brief update on the Monte Nido Valley Community Association and some exciting news about this year's July 4th celebration.

THE MNVCA IS CURRENTLY ON HIATUS

After a challenging period, the MNVCA’s board terms expired at the end of 2025, and the organization is currently inactive. We’re working through what the future of the association will look like, and we’ll share more with the full community once those conversations have progressed. We remain hopeful that the MNVCA will continue in some form, and we’re committed to keeping you updated along the way. If you’d like to be involved in those conversations, please email montenido@montenido.org.

THIS YEAR'S JULY 4TH PARADE & PICNIC

In the meantime, we have some good news: planning for the annual July 4th Parade & Picnic is moving forward, not as an MNVCA event, but as a fully independent, community-run celebration. There is a path to continuing our annual tradition and key details are actively being worked on.

As in years past, this celebration has always been a community effort, made possible by the time, energy, and heart of Monte Nido residents. This year is no different in spirit. But because the MNVCA is on hiatus and no annual dues were collected for 2026, there is no organizational funding to draw from. A GoFundMe has been set up to cover essential costs, including permits, insurance, and road closures. There’s also a broader call for volunteers than usual.

Some essential items have already been confirmed: Fleemans Meadow has been made available, and a live band, lawn games, and a burger stand are lined up. Now your donations and help are needed to get to the finish line.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Volunteers are needed to step into a few key roles to make this yearly tradition possible:

  • Parade Manager: to coordinate the parade route and participants

  • Volunteer Coordinator: to organize and communicate with the volunteers

  • Watermelon & Water Station Lead: to oversee refreshment stations at the picnic

If you’d like to take on one of these roles or help in any other way, please reach out to montenidojuly4th@gmail.com.

Thank you for your continued love for our community. More updates on the future of the MNVCA will follow later this summer.

With much gratitude,
Interim MNVCA
